You can't really make out the finer details in the photo with the six barrels side by side, but I can see in this photo that you didn't just machine simple rings, you cut the astragals with fillets in front and behind. Nice details Wes, very nice.
RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

I wonder if that new CNC lathe figures in any of this?   ::)

its difficult to see on that picture if its cnc turned to an extremely fine finish or if its polished with emery cloth  ;D

but I would guess this was an part of the cnc education  ::) ::)
but its still an extremely high quality build and shows what an highly skilled craftsman can accomplish
doesnt matter if its cnc turned or made manualy , its just a lot more work to do it in an manual lathe and takes lots and lots of more time .
on the other hand I would guess that the programming wouldnt be easy to make either if its made in an cnc machine , but I dont have any experiance from such things .
but if I had there would be another problem , to get $100 000 to buy an cnc lathe and mill  ;D ;D  so Im happy that I dont know howe to do it   ::)

Powder Keg, I don't care if it is manual or CNC, as a machinist myself, it looks like you do a fine job.

This might be a little off topic but is the mill you are using use BT-30 holders? If so, where can I find a good supplier of those holders?

Thunderpaw,

Here's a good supplier of tooling for machining centers.
They have the cheap, and pricey stuff as well.

http://www.usshoptools.com/

Reliable tool store on ebay has all kinds of used tooling
for good prices too.

Well alrighty then, Tropico, it's good to see you making a post, and the fact that Wes is fine, is better than good news. The explosive six-pack looks great, and I'll be looking forward to seeing more photos when you recieve shipment. :D
