Wes,
Mike and I have been waiting for this post; Tropico is one lucky guy to have you making these tubes for him! The regular, stop to clear the chips, routine is well known here as well. Even with 90 psi air, pushing a water/sol mist, you still have to stop and do this. For a 1.5" or larger bore, we believe you have chosen a very good method, because the large amount of bore volume created after you get just a few inches into the tube from the muzzle-face lowers your pressure available to push liquid or mist and chips out of the bore. There is a way we could both solve this problem though. We know a fellow who uses high pressure cutting oil, 900 psi, to clear chips during his gundrilling of .243 Win. barrels. Now a larger bore like our 1.167", 1/6 scale Parrott Rifle or your 1.500" Naval Gun bore would probably require less, BUT, could you imagine what your shop would look like, if an oil supply fitting failed??? Oh my!!

Like you say, a larger pump will probably do it, and maybe a
third compressor hooked in tandem will do it for us. Can't wait to see that beauty after she is turned and polished!
Regards,
Tracy and Mike
