HAS ANYONE HERE....
« on: October 03, 2006, 09:14:45 AM »
actually tried firing .32 H&R Magnum rounds from their
m95 Nagant. I have read that it works but have never tried them.
If yes, what were the results?

Whoa dude - those 32 H&R Magnums may fit in the Nagant revolvers cylinder but they are a much higher pressure round than the old Nagant round was and that is a formula for trouble.  That to me would be the same as chambering 357 magnum rounds in some of the older 38 S&Ws that had come through with straight bored chambers in the cylinders - some of those older revolvers were straight bored through to enable them to shoot 38 spl, which would always blow the cases.  I saw the topstrap come right off one of those 38 S&Ws when a 357 was chambered and fired.  Not a pretty sight.

Be very, very careful.  Mikey.

I'm a firm believer of firing only what guns are chambered for through them.

The reason I am asking is that when reading in some of the ADs in the shotgun
news, the sellers are advertising that they work fine with .32 H&R magnum.
I thought this was kind of crazy myself but I wanted to see if someone had done it!

The 32 H&R magnum may chamber in those revolvers but..........  I thought there were cylinders available in 32 S&W for those naggies, which would be in the same pressure range but the 32 H&R magnum is at a much higher pressure than the old nagant round was.  I wouldn't do it.  JMHO.  Mikey.

Not 32 S&WL, 32 acp, from Century. They don't always work too well

I do believe that I saw that they would fire them somewhere too.  I just roll my own with the lee dies and Starline 32/20 dies.  I cast some 90 gr .314 SWC and put them over 3.6 gr Unique and they work excellent.  In fact, I'm reloading some now, as I plugged a few boxes through this weekend.

I have 6 of these babies and every one of them likes them fine. With the bullet seated below the case mouth, I would suspect that it's probably getting at the 32SW potential.  I do know there are guys loading this same set-up at 4 gr unique without any problems, so .....

Myself (and many others, I have read about all over the net) fire .32 S&W long and .32 H&R mag out of these revolvers all the time.  I have suffered no ill effects and the revolver is still in tip-top shape.
