My Brother-in-law Wants to sell me a 3040 krag rifle.
I dont know what the thing is worth.
 Can anyone help me out?

If it's unaltered, anywhere between $500.00 and $5000.00 depending on condition and type.  If it's been sporterized, maybe $200.00 on a good day.

Take it to a smith experienced in this model. Many of them have issues, due to years of overloading.  ::)

Good sporterizations seem to top out about $350 to 400, and that is if they are good.  if not, really no different than any military sporter, not worth much.  If it is original, then could be worth more.  Seems like those sell for $400 to north of $1000.
