BROWNING..what's the state-of-the- state?
« on: September 06, 2006, 12:36:27 PM »
I have been told that Remington now owns Browning, if so, what has been the effect on the Browning line of rifles?

Been looking for a 7mm-08 semi-auto.
Remington, (the parent of this cartridge in the commercial world), doesn't have one in their product line, strange...?

Looked at the Browning line..they have this caliber only in their lever gun, strange?

GURUS, what are the differences between the "ShortTrac Stalker" and the "BAR Lightweight Stalker"? (one dealer thought the "ShortTrac" was just a Remington 7400 in Browning clothing...is this true?

You can't be serious.

Remington was in finanial trouble of their own not so long ago and was looking for a buyer but didn't find one. If I had the bucks I'd buy them.

Browning and US Repeating Arms who has the current use of the Winchester name are both owned by The Herstal Group as is FN who makes most of the guns under those two names that are not made in Japan.

Remington is in no position to be buying anyone I'd not think.
