I am one of the lucky few that actualy own a Acera. I love the gun. It is light and fast. The straight pull bolt is instinctive and fast. This gun is just a simplified BAR.. No gas system to worry about. no gas system to rob accuracy. No gas system period.Did I mention , no gas system.. P.S. I have found it to be reliable and accurate. Havent taken a deer yet with her.. My fault not hers. Only complaint is, just too pretty. beautiful wood on mine. Tiger stripe. looks great. I have been told there were about 600 imported to the U.S. They are still offered overseas where game laws restrict semi autos. The abolt and BAR are more popular here. You will be getting something diffrent. Everyone has a BAR. but few have seen a Acera(Firey one) by the way. Mine sports a Leupold 2-7 compact with leupold rings. Sits low on the gun. and fits me perfect. No iron sights on mine. These were made in 30-06 as well as 300 win magnum I beleive. some had the Boss. Mine is 30/06. I aquired mine for 600 and have never looked back. worth every penny. You cant get much for 600 any more.  oh yeah,, the receiver is alumnium alloy so take care not to scratch it.

Since the Acera is still listed in Browning's International catalog, can the Acera be imported into the USA by a gun dealer?

I think all overseas production guns need to go thru a Distrubtor ,not just imported thru your local dealer. The BATFE ...&&^%$ are pretty anti gun.. lots of rules etc. They can still be had for a good price on the market. Besides,, have you seen that funky euro stock. I guess the europeans have a diffrent build than us Americans. looks uncomfortable. Who knows , it may be better and just diffrent. but diffrent is the word. check Gunbroker.com & auctionarms.com and be paitent.. you will find one of those 600 out there.
