can i make a bow out of any wood as long as its semi flexible and doesnt break

 Dear catdaddy:
 It would be better to work with the more commonly used hardwoods for bows. A bow could probably be made from balsa wood, but why struggle? Pine 2x4 can make nice arrows though.
