Remington model 7 22-250 accuracy
« on: August 26, 2006, 09:30:48 AM »
Getting ready to scope up a Rem model 7 in 22-250 and need advice on handloads and expected accuracy. Anyone have experience with this model/calibre? I have a mode 7 in 308 that shoot great and decided that a 22-250 was in order. Thanks!

Experience with 22-250 in remington 700s,never tried in the model 7.My best loads are with imr3031 and 50gr & 55gr bullets.I shoot either bullet with 33grs of 3031,it is always under half inch if I do my part.

The model 7's I own are all good shooters but I've never had one in 22-250.  H380 and H414 are two good powders for the 22-250.  They're both ball powders so you can throw your loads straight from the measure to the case.  A handy thing when you're loading up a 1000 rounds for a Pdogs shoot.

i'd agree with using h-414 or bulk/surplus wc-846 or BL(C)-2 with bullets up to 60 gr's inthe .22-250.   we got great results doing just that out of a Model 700.   it was a tack-driver!
