Sako (Berreta) warranty
« on: August 21, 2006, 05:37:11 AM »
Just thought I would pass this along b/c usually I'm bitching about something and not praising a manufacturer.

I bought a Sako Finnlight in 300 win mag about  5 weeks ago and fired 7 different loads through it after doing the break in.  Could not get the thing to group at all under 1.75 inches.  Boxed it up and sent it to Berreta with a nice letter.  Two weeks later they sent me a brand new weapon without blinking.  It holds sub minute as it should.  Pretty neat!

Finally, somebody who stands berhind their stuff and doesn't give you a rash of B/S and the legal department shuffle.

Beretta did the exact same thing years ago when I had a problem with my new 92F of one month old.  Internal firing pin block frozen closed so gun could not fire, just make clicking sounds.

When I called they asked if I was a police officer I said "No, I am not. Just disapointed."

The woman on the phone gave me a repair order number for the gun shipment.  She said I would get taken care of ASAP.  I just sent in the gun itself and one magazine clip.

They sent back a virgin NEW 92F in a new box with 2 clips and all accessories.

Total turn around time was less than 10 days.

I've never had a problem with my newer 92F in all these years and is my most reliable gun.  Period.  It was promoted to bedside gun years ago and no other 9mm, .40 or .45 has been able to kick it back into the gun safe.

It is nice to here they are just as good today as then.
Just my 2 cents

It's nice to hear about some positive experiences with Beretta.

I figure they know it gets them a lot of mileage (like here in a forum) if they stand behind their products. The shooting community is pretty tight and a good reputation is easy to lose but not easy to get back.
