Savage, by far, has been the most accurate "out of the box" bolt guns I have ever shot. I have owned quite a few bolt rifles over the years, and Savage rifles have routinely shot better than any Remington, Winchester, or Browning gun that has passed through my hands. Don't get me wrong, as I love the Remington 700 action. In fact, my two primary hunting rifles are Remington 700 Mountain Rifles. But, both of my target guns are Savage 10FP's and I see no reason to change. I have one in .223 and .308, and both will shoot 3/4" groups with factory ammo all day long. The .223 loves Winchester Ranger match 69gr BTHP's and my .308 is downright scary with BH red box 175gr loads.
For the money, you cannot beat the Savage 10FP.
