Bird Hunter,
Most bolt handles are put on the bolt by sandwiching some brazing material between the bolt and bolt handle then heating to melt the softer metal.they come off the same way just heat em up and it falls off.there can be a lot of reasons to change a bolt handle are reshape the exsisting.one are two reasons being that a knrulled bolt does not operate as well as a smooth one and a flatter knob is not as nice to work in your hand as a round one.also for some folks one that is a little further out from the stock is easier to get to in a hurry then one that is closer to the stock like remington.
and for most folks it is perfect the way it is right out of the bx.and for most folks again..they do not use firearms enough to know that there are better choices.those are the ones saying baa baaa as they head out hunting instead of the range to give their rifles a work out before the hunt..
and for me right out of the bx works fine.I just have so many I want some to be differnt..and was wondering what others have done and recomend.thank you for your thoughts.
Hmmm I can only assume that this was a mistake and not some sort of insult

I am not
Bird Hunter the handle is
Brithunter as I am British and I hunt

Now as for brazed handles ............................ Hmmmm as I stated only one rifle I have has the handle welded on and not a forged intergral part of the bolt and that is TIG welded and not brazed

I understand Remington uses the brazed method as it's bolts are sort of modular and made from tubing

not a method I like. I do not believe tha Sako, Tikka, Steyr, Sauer, Blaser nor Heym brazes their bolt handles neither did Winchester. I do not enough about Weatherby's to comment and of course Savage has a different bolt design althogether.
Your wish to be just different I can understand

this is the reason people have custom rifles made

. However form follows function especially on bolt handles so I hope that you manage to find one which suits you. There are a lot of types out there and not all are a good as they might seem. The ball of the bolt needs to be in the right place for easy use and not all rifles have this feature

.
Some of us are lucky in having hunting seasons all year long so we get practice not only on the range but also in the field on a regular basis. Rabbits and Deer are in season all year here in England
