ben pearson specter crossbow?
« on: August 05, 2006, 07:53:05 AM »
Have any of you ever owned one of these and how did you like it? I have one that I have had for about twenty  years. I tried to contact Ben Pearson and they talked like that they knew nothing about this bow. It shoots good but is terriblly heavy.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I don't know how to post pictures. Sorry
The Specter shoots good  but is terribly heavy.
The crossbow has had four arrows shot at deer and killed three. I missed the other. I haven't bow hunted in years so I thought that I would get it out and shoot it some...

Well sounds like it is working ok congrats on the deer, With any old crossbow you should check it out and make sure every thing is up to snuff before you shoot it if it has been sitting around for a while. Is it a compound or a recurve?

I am not gonna be much help on that old Bow, the new pearson company maynot know of it. Pearson Bow company has been bought and sold twice since yer Bow was built. Its doubtful you can find ant parts unless someone else has one fer parts. Sounds like one of the old compound xbows that pearson compamy put out. They got out of the market cause couldn't compete with Horton and Barnett. Check strings and cables real good, may have to have them custom built. One other thing they shoot about 220-230 fps. 2117's.
