Nofun, I have owned the CZ, ruger77hornet, and a Abolt. The CZ and Abolt shot about the same groups and the were about 1/2 the size of the rugers. The guns feel different of course. I like the CZlux best. But thats based on personal opinion of the balance and slim lines of that rifle. Regards, Byron  ;D

If you have seen some other posts here, many people have said the short barrel model
Rugers do not shoot all that well. They have to bed them first.
The target model Rugers with the laminated stocks do better.
I have one of those, and 1 inch groups @ 100 yards are no problem
with a couple of different loads.
Having said that, the CZs have a real good reputation for accuracy in many
calibers. ( Even in .416 Rigby )

Been to the range a few times and this gun shows promise, one handload put 5 of 6 shots in 15/16" inch with the sixth shot making a 1 1/2" group (I'm blaming the wind!).  Best three shot group so far is 3/8".  These are 100 meter groups, about 110 yds.

I've got a 3-9X Tasco (a 1990 vintage Japanese made World Class) mounted on top.

I'll be trying again this week.  All handloads so far are using the hornady 40 gr V Max bullet.

Does anyone know if this is a .224 or .223 bore?

I have a Micro Medallion .22 Hornet.  I shoot 40 gr. V-Max bullets with Lil Gun powder and CCI pistol primers.  It shoots into .600 at 100 yds. for 3-shot groups.  I have an old Redfield 3 X 9 scope on it that is pretty dim.  A better scope may improve the group average.  I love the gun and have shot turkey, prairie dogs, rockchucks, groundhogs and tree squirrels with it.  I shoot a reduced load at tree squirrels.  It groups around 1/4" at 50 yds.

Tom I haven't tried Lil Gun yet, but I have tried IMR4227, W296, and 2400. I'm using WW pistol primers.  What are you using for your reduced loads (powder and bullet)?  Do you know the MV of this reduced load?

I love this gun too!

Gregory:  The reduced load was with Unique powder and the 40 gr. V-Max.  I used CCI 500 pistol primers.  My log shows 5.7 grains of powder.  I took this load from a book on small game and varmint cartridges.  I will look it up again and let you know.  The book article was about a Ruger #3 that the guy was using for small game.

I found the book.  It is called Varmint and Small Game Rifles and Cartridges.  The article was written by Paul Matthews.  He lists 5.7 grs. of Unique but does not list a bullet.  I use the 40 gr. V-Max and get 2260 fps.  It has been a few years since I shot squirrels with it but if I remember right there was little damage with a body hit.  Of course you should shoot for the head and this load is accurate enough to hit it easily.

Hope this helps.
