Question about Berkley Fireline
« on: July 18, 2006, 12:37:34 PM »
I have heard it said that it will cut into aluminum oxide guides over time. Has this ever happened to anyone?

All multi strand lines will cut into guides make out of aluminum oxide or graphite.  they do lose their coat over time and will become abrasive, its not just fireline.  If you are dealing with hard fighiting fish many many times it can happen, but it is over time and with lots of strain
