Sako date of Manufacture
« on: April 04, 2003, 02:44:54 PM »
I have a Sako marked Sako Rhimaki 39606 (ser #) in 222.  Has a heavey barrel, wood stock, barrel is not marked Borfors (as I have seen on some),  wide beavertail style forend.  Barrel was cut to 21.5" and drilled & tapped (even though it has the Sako dovetail mounts.  Any idea when made??? Also, I paid @$470 - was this a good buy?  Also, are the Leupold mounts any good or should I get the Sako mounts???  Thanks... :?:

I am not sure what year it was made, nor if $475 is a good deal because I need to actually see it.  I'm a little concerned why the barrel would be cut.

As for mounts, take a look at Warne Rings - the Sako rings cost so much that you might get a heart attack.
