how does the felt recoil of the 44 mag alaskan compare with the redhawk and super blackhawk. I have shot both of the latter and did not like the recoil. is the alaskan easier on the hand?

I found the recoil of the Alaskan very close in comparison to the full length Ruger's. If you did not like the recoil of either the Blackhawk or Redhawk, you won't like the Alaskan.

Felt recoil was comparable, but muzzle flip was more noticeable with the Alaskan.

I agree with Lloyd,
The grip on my Alaskan made shooting the 454 so easy I got that grip for my 7.5 in. Super. A 44 would be a pussy cat in that configuration. If you are not into big bores, then none of the above would be appropriate.
