H-S Precision Rifles Any Good ??
« on: July 04, 2006, 03:19:09 AM »
I am seriously thinking of buying a Heavy tactical rifle from H-S Precision in 6.5x55 swe - I am looking to both have a very accurate target rifle as well as one that I can use to Deer Stalk here in Ireland. Your opinions or experiences would be greatly appreciated. The scope I have just bought for this rifle is a S&B 5-25 PM11 with the reticle in the second focal plane.

I haven't bought one yet, but from what I hear they are the cat's meow of rifles.  They also offer a 1/2 MOA guarantee at 100 yards on calibres .30 and under.  ;D Good luck, im sure someone else will chime in.

Shot one and handled several. Excellent semi custom rifle. I am planning on having them build me a .300WSM mountain rifle that runs about 6 pounds 'full up'.....runs about $2800.
Check out my response in the best factory triggers thread.....HS builds their own and I would still match them up with anyones factory job.

What caliber are you getting and what are you planning to use it for. The mountain rifle I am getting has a thin fluted barrel on it but I didn't want it for a bench gun.......

I will probably get the 6.5x55 but was thinking of 6.5x284 the gun will be used mainly for target out to 1000+ but mainly 300-600 and also in the season used to shoot a few deer. I do realise a heavy tactical rifle can be a lot to lug around with a big scope on it but I might get a mountain rifle in the future finances permitting.
