While at the range today i chronographed some Winchester whitebox .223 hollowpoints. The box says the velocity is 3600fps. They were all coming out of my 20" barrel at 2250fps. Has anyone else chronographed this loading?

Sorry no chrono so I can't answer your question. I have a Stevens 200 in 223 and I also use WWB. I'm curious what your chrono reads on other ammos. Is it just the speed of WWB that is 66% of what advertized or do you commonly see advertized fps being overly optimistic like the WWB?

I don't commonly shoot factory ammo. But hornady .17hmr clocks in within 20 fps of what the box claims. As does remington golden bullet .22lr.

If you want, send me three rounds and I'll run them over my chrono out of my 24" Bushmaster Varminter and let you know what velocity I get.
