Hi All,

Well we picked up this 93 Cherokee last Thursday afternoon 4.0SE model   . Has a few faults which I need to sort out but seems otherwise to be good:-

This is the first American vehicle I have had anything to do with let alone owned so it's a steep learning curve here

Hey! the steering wheel is on the wrong side.  Or is that the right side? Hehhehheh.

Congratulations!  Its looks good for a 13 yr old vehicle.  It would be a rare find to locate a vehicle with that kind of age that doesn't have a few minor faults.

Seems they are considered reliable vehicles with the in-line 6 & 4 cyl. engines.  The I-4 cyl may be a bit underpowered, but I've heard from some who have owned one that it is economical.

I know of a 4X4 driving school that uses the Cherokee as training vehicles.  I once asked a Land Rover driving instructor if there was an American made 4X4, excluding the Humvee, that could compare to the Rover. After thinking for a moment, he said it would probably be a Jeep.

Good Luck and Enjoy!

Congrats Brithunter!! I drove an '88 Cherokee 4.0 I6 for 10 yrs, bought new, one of the best vehicles I've ever owned, the aftermarket parts available for modification is almost endless, mine ended up highly modified and I really enjoyed it!! Even in stock 4x4 form it can do the Rubicon, so it's a very capable offroad vehicle!!

Congrats on the new ride!

I had an '89 and now have an '01 Cherokee with the 4.0L. They are hard to break, that's for sure!

My '89 was an SE. In the U.S. the SE is a stripped down model (low-level trim). I love mine, and I'd buy another if I could ever find a 5 speed model with four doors that didn't look like someone lived in it.
