Hmm, never been referred to as a bloke  :-D  I'll check in the morning what I have on my 7-08 Montana.  Sure is a nice gun, isn't it?  Shoots perfect for me, and I couldn't imagine a lighter hunting rifle.  It's perfect  :D

How about Leupold D/Dovetail bases.
They are not offered in silver but I can use the Leupy superlow D/D rings.Which would complement a Vx11 2-7x33.

Tez,

I've got the Dual Dovetail Leupolds on mine with my XV-III 2.5x8.  I don't know if I would go with super low, you'll have to check clearance.  When I've thought of even letting myself get lows I decide on Med.

Good luck.  Sounds like it will be a nice rig.
