Ordered a new Taurus, couldnt pass up the price.....
« on: May 30, 2006, 09:10:57 PM »
I have always wanted a .357 magnum revolver.  Just something to carry occasionally, not an everyday gun.

I own a few Smiths but the price on the Taurus 605 3" in stainless steel persuaded me to give them a try.

Buds Gun Shop has them at $289 - seemed like a good price so I ordered one up.  Havent got it yet.  Anyone have one of these.

3" seems about right for a CCW piece.....I would have prefered 4" but 3 is better than a snubbie.

I have this very same one in a 2" and with Remington 125-gr JSP bullets it is a handful.  But over all, now I want the 3" model as well....

See what you caused  :D

Thats what I picked up at Wally World the other day......this being my first .357 mag I almost blacked out when I bought ammo.  Crap......good thing I already have a pile of .38spl lying around.

No, sorry for the miscommunications.  I was refering to the ammo.  I figured it would be a little pricier then .38spl but I wasnt prepared for 2x the cost.  Eeck.

The ammo the green and white box 357 mag 125-gr jsp are suppose to be 1450 fps out of a 4" barrel.... yep OUTCH    and it let me know it right now.  These will be my outdoor rounds to second for my regular woods carry.

Other than that I have no complaints of the Taurus 605  8)

Reloading is the only way to go. I reload 38sp, 357mag and 44mag. Cheaper ammo and you can taylor it to your gun. oh .... and it keeps me off the streets at night :)

Anyone that MAY be interested in ordering this gun from Buds Gun Shop.....take notice.

The gun is NOT polished stainless like they show in the picture, its matte stainless.  Doesnt matter to me but I thought I would let it be known.

Actual gun received:
