browing vs ruger

I've been looking at the ruger compact and the browing a bolt micro hunter. Which one has better quality? Is the accuracy better on one model than the other? Is the action better on one model than the other. Thanks. Alec.

Well you certainly have chosen polar opposites. I doubt you can really find bad rifles anymore. Oh, you'll occasionally get a bad barrel or an action that isn't square, but nothin' really uncorrectable. I personally prefer the Ruger, with the two locking lugs, you'll get a bit better mechanical advantage on extraction than with the Browning's three lug arrangement. And I can't abide the "shineyness" of the Brownings.

why not step up to the legendary accuracy that Remington has built into their Model 700.......but buy it in their 'compact' Model Seven?

the Model Seven is a rifle that seems to be way underrated.    it's action and lockwork -- i'm told -- mimic the Model 700 but you are getting a lightweight rifle with great portability.    they are just about the perfect whitetail and black bear rifle in the right calibers.    i saw one here in n.e. ohio at a range that was a great combination of a walk-around rifle and sufficient power......    it was a beauty in stainless steel and a synthetic stock.

just a thought,
