I got a new rod!!!!!! :grin: A ugly stick with a gander mtn reel.. I went out on monday a caught some small fish. Reel was very smooth to cast.

Frankly, I like most of them..can find a use for almost any rod..seriously,a person can purchase a fine rod and reel these days for under fifty dollars.Not pro bass type equipment, but good enough to satifisy the needs of the weekend fisherman. I like Berkeley.Garcia,..I fish alot with an ultra-lite Eagle Claw Featherweight that I purchased in 1973! Couldn't tell you the amount of crappie, bream,pond bass, and rainbow trout that rod has caught through the years. I own about thirty outfits for everything from saltwater to ultra-lites spooled with 2lb test. Check out WWW.FFO.com for some really good deals..

my favorite rod that I have ever owned is an eagle claw trailmaster III, pack rod, very good action, and usable for flies and spinning. only problem is that some types of lines will not cast well due to the number of eyelets. only costs about 40 bucks, and so much fun. anything in an ultralite is also fun. I got an uglystick 5'5" medium light rod a few years ago, and that has been my river run red salmon rod, it has the best action and resoponse, plus gives your wrist a damn good work out if you hook a big un!
