452 American Prices
« on: May 14, 2006, 04:29:54 PM »
Hi,
I'm considering buying a 452 American in .22LR.  I was wondering what any of you had paid for one recently?  Also, what type of scope do you have mounted on your rifle?  Thanks

Afreind of mine got a 17 cal 452 for $250 somewhere a while back. He has a FFL so he got it wholesale, Itold hom to order me one in 17h2 , but don't know what is going to cost me yet , will be wholesale plus shipping. Don't grt a BSA sweet 22 friend has one on his 452 right know and the power adjusting ring is so large that he only has about 1/8th inch forward and back movement in the scope, otherwise the bolt handle will hit powerring and can't open bolt, It is preety tight squeeze anyway. Ihave a sweetseventeen on my 541s rem I will probably put it on 17h2 if it will fit and go to a good compact 4 or 6 fixed power paralexed for 22. All I need for most anything in hunting with 22 around here. Plus I think they look better on that size rifle.  Cabelas pine ridge makes a side focas rimfire scope 3x12 for $99 but don't now how good they are. My other friend has one of they fixed 4 powers onhis marlin and it will shoot raged hole at 25ydwith wolf target ammo.  This is just my opion I don't think you need to hall all that extra sope and power around if you don't need it and the closer you can get the scope to the barrek somuch the better.

Hello- A dealer friend of mine told me he pays $195 for the CZ452 LUX. So if you can get one for 250 I'd say that's doing pretty good.

I am seeing these CZ's for upwards of 300........set me straight on finding one at 250.

452 american and varmit price
« Reply #5 on: June 02, 2006, 02:33:59 PM »
The CDNN web page offers 452 Americans for $259 and Varmits in $269.  Take your pick of 22lr, 17hmr or 17m2.  There is shipping and any FFL fee add to that.

Go to the rimfire central web page and look at the Mueller scopes.  They just came out with a APV (all purpose varmit) 4.5X14X40 made specifically for rimfires and has an adjustabe objective that focuses down to 10 feet or yards.  All for $89.
Should be a great match...I hope so because I just ordered on for my CZ varmit M2.  Good luck, Jigmaster

I just price one at the local gunshop and the .22 goes for about $345 for a RH an $380 for a LH model. I talked to CDNN about two weeks ago and he only sol them in 17's. Maybe that has changed.

Remington brough a nice loking .22 bolt action out call the Model Five. It might give them some competition.

I ordered a 452 Varmint about 4 weeks back for 319+tax+17.50 shipping.  The American would have been about $30 less.  I put a Mueller Tactical 8.5-25x44AO on mine and just love it.

I aim to please - but often miss.

I have one in Hm2.  I payed $275.  The new ones have a single set trigger and they cost little a more.  Probably is worth it.  I put a eric brooks trigger kit in mine and really could not be any happier.  If the wind is decent this little rifle will shoot 1/2 inch.

Can top all of you gent's prices with my first (and last) purchase of CZ rifles back in mid 2005.....

Paid $553 sight unseen for a 452 American in 17M2 that was culled by the US CZ Rep for exhibition wood and sold to me through my local FFL.    Was part of a two rifle package from the rep.   Got an awesome 527 Amereican 221 Fireball with 100% exhibition wood for $574 (did see a picture of it before bought), but got screwed on the M2 that I trusted the rep's word on.   It's wood is nice, but you can't call it exhibition wood and worthy of the much higher price paid for it.   Add another $160 for the two sets of sleek steel Euro sporter rings for them boith (and an extra clip for the M2) a friend picked up for me at the CZ factory on a trip to Europe, and the "package" was almost $1300.

Only time I have ever been stung buying firearms on-line, and I was stung by the CZ rep.    It soured me enough that I lost all interest in both rifles (they remain NIB) or in ever buying any CZ's again.

Love my old 1949 BRNO ZKW465 22 Hornet though, in mint condition and with very nice wood.
