Black bear hunt with 9.3x62
« on: May 12, 2006, 04:01:29 PM »
I just got back from a spring black bear hunt in Manitoba and got a 400 plus lb. bear ( fall weight) with my 9.3x62.  I shot a 286 gr. Privi-Partisan and it flattened the big boy like he was hit by lighting.  This gun has stopping power, and it is easy to use in a stand.  It is the full stock model and I have total confidence in it's ability to stop anything I hunt.  The ammo was just fine. Shot some before the hunt and think it is a great buy at Graf's for $ 15.00/ box.  The bullet was a pass throught at 30yards and while it didin't do tremendous meat damage it turned the insides to jello.  Very accurate firearm.  This was a great hunt and my CZ was on it's game.  I like Tikka's and CZ's!!!!!!   Buckfever

Thats great buckfever, where are the pics????  You just can't fault the 9.3x62, its been killing things for a long time now.  I was equally impressed on its performance on moose last fall.  Its amazing that the 9.3 isn't more popular here in the states.  Its about perfect for north american big game.
