Lucky Star Ranch - new owners???
« on: May 11, 2006, 02:42:01 PM »
Hi All,

Just some rambling......may strike a cord from someone who is familier with the following:

I was bored the other day and called Lucky Star Ranch in western NY.  It was one of the premeir ranches for fallow in the country.  I actually got Baron Josef on the phone and what a fine gentleman he was.  Seems he went to Germany for a time and his help helped themselves to all and I mean all of the animals on his ranch while he was gone.  He said all that's left are a few pere davids and some white tails.  Too bad...He told me he brought his fallow from sweden many years ago.

He's selling the ranch to a couple in June and they are interested in runnuing the same type of operation that he did.  I hope so!  He had GREAT fallow!

Man....I wish I'd had the foresight to hunt that ranch.

It would be interesting to see what happens to that place. I met a fellow who hunted that place and he didn't think much of the Baron. In fact he informed me that the locals didn't like his condescending attitude towards others and was refered to as Baron Von A**  h***.

So that must tell you something.

Hi Bigbore,

I heard the opposite from a quite a few folks who hunted there and brought their mounts to my taxidermist.  Maybe he was nicer to paying customers...who knows.  No matter...he's out.  Hope the place comes back.

I'll give them a call some time this summer to see what's what.

That could very well be the case. Maybe that person had a grudge to bear or something. We'll have to see what happens in the future. It would be nice to have another place to go to.

Ditto!

I'm going to Wild Hill in November.  Not expecting all too much really.
