I have a S&W 4506 that has a horribly heavy trigger, even in single action mode. I've been told that this handgun cannot have trigger work done on it. Is this true?

I'm sorry but I have no direct knowledge of this model..  Most handguns can have the trigger pull improved.  You may want to give S&W and call.  Since their loss of consumer support they've been sold to a never management team and stopped supporting the gun banners and so once again deserve our support.  They will try to help if at all possible I'm sure..  Good luck and if you don't have any luck with them let us know.  I have a friend who works almost exclusively on the S&W's, I'll speak with him and put you together..
