.358 Norma Magnum in a BLR
« on: May 07, 2006, 05:05:04 AM »
think it's doable? would have to start with a .300 Win Mag most likely. there's just something about this cartridge that appeals to me, i can't explain why for the life of me...

It's been done!

Bill Leeper in BC/Alta did it a couple of years ago.

I've never liked the feel if the long action BLR's - I guess I got spoiled by the short action model.

If, however, I were to buy one, I thing the .358 Norma would be the ideal cartridge to do it in.
Hunting is Exciting!  Bolt actions are BORING!!
Don't mix the two!

The new BLRs are now available in .325 Winchester Magnum. It's 99% of the fun for 10% of the pain. They are also making the rifle in .450 Marlin if you want a short range super-stomper.
