dixiedog,

The main difference is the Sidekick is considered a "Muzzleloader Only", it has a shorter receiver (from standing breech to hinge pin) and narrower barrel lug channel which does not allow other barrels to be fitted. The Sidekick can also be purchased without having to fill out 4473 form for purchase of a firearm and can be purchased by mail order.

The Huntsman is considered a "Firearm", it can have other H&R/NEF shotgun and muzzleloader barrels fitted since it has a SB1 receiver just like a shotgun. The Huntsman has to be purchased through a FFL holder and 4473 from must be filled out and background check completed prior to purchase. Notice the receiver length from the standing breech to the hinge pin is the same as the SB1 shotgun receivers.

The price usually runs within  about $5 of each other, the quality would be the same. The prices usually run between $150 and $175 on average depending where you buy them, although I have seen them for a little less and a lot more than this range so shop around for a bargain.

Thank's Busta, for your reply, Sounds like the Sidekick gets my vote. Also how do these ML shoot the CVA rounds, the non sabot type. The CVA's are very accurate in my CVA 209 INLINE.--------Thank's.

Depending on if your state has any restrictions or not, you could have it shipped to your door. The ramrods are all black colored brass now instead of natural brass colored. Here ar just a couple examples from $153 to $175. Do a Google search for New England Firearms Sidekick Muzzleloader, NEF Sidekick Muzzleloaders or another variation to find some online retailers or better yet buy from your local dealer if you can. The first one says the MSRP is $209 and they are selling for $153.02. Their price is in the upper right, so slide over to see it.

This will probably be hard to beat unless you get real lucky.
