Elliot Spitzer. Vote against him!

Are my fellow New Yorker's aware that this liberal poster child who is making a bid for governor believes that our Constitution is an "evolving" document that is "always changing"? I imagine that gun "rights" could "evolve" into "no gun rights" in his opinion.  This guy scares me.

Not only Spitzer but it looks like a liberal sweep next election;  Hide your guns & stock up on your ammo!  Personally, I lost all mine so I don't have to worry about it.

He can't be much worse the Pataki. Remember George is the one that came up with and passed the law that mirrors the federal assault weapons ban and ballistic finger printing. He also tried to make our pistol permits good for four years (instead of the lifetime permits we have now) so we would have to renew at a cost of $100 every renewal. Can't get much worse then that!

I am not a pataki suppoter, but I believe you're wrong if you think Spitzer couldn't be much worse.  Sad to say Pataki's greatest accomlishment is his veto of extreme liberal bills.  Also sad to think that NY Republican party has to cow-tow to liberals in order to win elections.  Conservatives in NY can not win thanks to NYC thus resulting in only liberal republicans who have a chance.  Anything is better than a NYC democrat which is just a socialist in disguise.

I don't think anyone will beat Spitzer. He's a down state liberal and the people in the NYC area are going to elect him.....it's that simple!

Personally I think that's why Pataki isn't running for governor this time. I don't think he thinks he can win. Pataki is playing the I'm going to look into running for president in 2008 to save face because he knows he can't beat Spitzer. No Republican in their right mind outside of NY would even consider Pataki for president once they look at his anti gun back round alone. He'll probably say he changed his mind about running for president after the race for governor is over, but at least he won't LOSE the race for governor if he's not in it.

I think if NY can keep it's republican controlled state senate them Spitzer probably won't be able to hurt us anymore then Pataki did. Again I'm being optimistic here. The state assembly has always been controlled by the democrats. At least since I can remember.

In my opinion and that's all it is, us gun guys have to keep in the ears of our republican senators.....that's all we've got and that's all we're going to have!

Guys - look, Spitzer is a rabid, near out of control new york liberal and anti-constitutionalist who is about as close to a flippin' communist as you can ever fear.  He will, if he gets the chance cuomo wanted to hold a constituional convention, remove the 2nd Amendment language from the State Constitution.  If he gets elected, don't hide your guns, oil them for use because we might be needing them to defend ourselves and our rights.  He will be supported by the likes of sharpton and jackson and they will definately move to disarm the upstate sporter, period!  He will listen to Blumberg and will try and foist the most restrictive and draconian firearms laws you can imagine.

William Weld from Massivetwoschmidts is no better.  He is a liberal in Republican clothing.  If he gets elected we will also lose our freedoms because he listens to ted, the swimmer, kennedy.

If we retain a Republican Senate we can maintain our rights but you had best believe they will be under assault from the beginning of a spitzer term.  And don't forget this guy is about as sly as a socialist - he will dare the NRA to take up our cause - he spent 8 million of our tax $ to pursue a frivolous federal lawsuit against gun makers even after being told it wouldn't fly.  Think of what this pink little commie will do to our rights when he gets into office.

The next call we hear might just be 'to arms'.  Mikey.

I believe Spitzer to be too powerful for us to overcome.  I am worried about him and his running mate.  Anti-constitution, anti-gun, anti-COP.  We must stay vigilant.  Spread the word to avoid him at the election booth.
Praise the Lord, and pass the ammunition!

Raging480 - we don't have to overcome him, all we have to do is stop him in his tracks before he gets started.  But this means constant vigilance to assure he doesn't slide something into the new laws he is bound to try to enact.  Look for some wide-sweeping anti-gun language in things like education laws or transportation bills or housing requirements.  Don't forget that cuomo screwed over S&W with federal housing requirements, of all danged things.

I think it would be fairly easy to sucker punch spitzer - he looks only to those with the biggest voice, like the NRA and he would feel invincible with the taxpayers wallet to fund his legal actions while knowing the NRA may have limited funds.  I think about the best we can do is raise the spector of his being a communist, seeking to disarm the average NYS citizen and sparking race wars in the process.  Let's not forget who will support this guy - the minorities who never turn in their firearms at 'buy-backs'.  I think the one thing that will keep this pinko leaving his snail trail back to the hidey-holes of nyc will be the fear of NYS citizens taking up arms to remove him from office and to prepare for possible race wars.

This guy will receive support from all the large inner cities, NYC, Albany, Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo - all hotbeds of democraptic liberalism.  Civil unrest will take place in those cities, and it won't be the college students protesting Iraq, it will be with groups of armed citizens trying to keep the inner city denizens in the inner cities and not roaming the countryside like you hear about in some places in Africa where they attack the homes and farms of disarmed citizens.

The only thing that will keep a commie under wraps is the fear of civil unrest leading to open hostilities across the state.  If he ever feels he has to call up the NG to restore order he has already lost and we can call for impeachment or new elections, or even hold our own and boot him out the way we finally got rid of cuomo.  Bad days are comin' boys, best just get ready for them.  JMHO.  Mikey.
