I cannot comment on the price, but my Vanguard in 300 Wby Mag shoots great.  They are guaranteed to shoot at least 1 1/2 in at 100 yards, and most will do much better.

These packages generally skimp out on the optics, and this is no exception.  I would buy the gun and (a better) scope separately.

Weatherby Vanguards are good rifles.  They are essentially upgraded Howa's actions, which in and of themselves are good actions.

I have a 20 year old Vanguard in .270, fancy satin walnut. Weatherby has given me free upgrades to parts over the years (bolt shroud, etc).
It is a great mountain deer rifle for $249 invested, rifle alone. I have been extremely happy with Weatherby and their commitment to stand behind their product. Good luck!
