22lr in combo
« on: April 23, 2006, 07:27:22 PM »
This may sound like a DUH question, but I am going to ask it anyways. Drooling over the new H&R/NEF web-site at presents I wanted to get I notice they are offering 22lr with the rifle combos? Now is H&R/NEF getting rid of the clause that a rimfire barrel has to be on a special frame? So will any frame work? Very interesting and cool if we can just get a rimfire barrel for our current frames. Thanks

The 22lr barrel that they put with the combo's is diffrent than the 22lr barrel that comes on the Sportster . The combo barrel has a offset bore that allows the fireing pin of the CF frame to hit the primer .

Stimpylu,

Your post makes sense - what I'd also expect to happen, but did you perhaps hear that from someone at NEF?  THANKS.
