I am thinking I missed it already but when is or was the gun show in syracuse?

Yeah it's this weekend. I probably won't go. The last Syracuse gun show I went to was last spring. The place was full of over priced junk for the most part. There were a few good deals but not many, as far as I could tell.

I agree, there is a lot of seemingly overpriced things, most of which I am not interested in.  BUT, I have found sweet deals there, some I jumped at, some I let go.  I'll be the guy there on sat. morning with rings under his eyes and a coffee clutched tightly in my non wallet hand. :D

Did anyone here go?  I was there and saw some good prices on some S&W wheelguns.  I bought a 3" 624 Lew Horton special run for a STEAL.

I didn't go. Saturday I was bussy doing things around the house and Sunday I took my daughter (be 9 in June) shooting for a few hours. The weekend before that I took my older (13) daughter shooting. My son gets mad because he can't go.......he's only 4 1/2, all in due time!

Glad you got a good deal on your new piece Raging480!

I'm not really in the market for anything new right now. I've actually been getting rid of some of the guns I don't use. They do have a lot of accessories though. Last time I went there was a guy selling 30 rd. AR-15 magazines for $10. The only problem was they were all post-ban which still makes them illegal in NY. I go to Bradleys right outside of Fort Drum. He sells used mags for $11 and he lets me go through and find the pre-ban ones!

Taking your kid shooting is a great excuse to miss the show.  I went so when my kids are big enough for handguns, that we have enough to share...here are a few...

Almost makes me wish I was back in Syracuse. Almost but if I ever get back it will be for a visit. Is that miserable gunsmith still in Solvay? Great S&W smith. Mack  alias  George

Mack, are you talking about the gun smith that worked at Dispirito's (Solvey Lumber) across the street from the Solvey Police Station? If so he left Dispirito's to go work at Bass Pro Shop in Auburn! :)

Hi New york Hunter, Yeh thats the guy, Desperto Lumber used to be my main gun supply store. Retired to central west FLORIDA.
Just waiting to die. But in the mean time I am still enjoying shooting, here in the Withlacootchie Forest.
