Taurus M66 grips
« on: April 14, 2006, 03:31:43 AM »
Hello all.  Been a couple years since I posted here.  Couldn't remember my old pass word so I made a new name and re-registered.  Anyway on to my question.
I have a Taurus M66 that  I got a Hogue rubber grip for.  No instructions came with the grip.  How do I put this on?  How does the clip that came with it attach to the bottom of the grip frame?  There is a stud through the bottom if the grip frame (that the factory grip panels fit onto) that is in the way so that the Hogue grips won't slip over the grip frame.  Do I need to remove this stud?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You need to tap out that pin at the bottom and install the screw base on the frame with the  round pin that came with the Hogues slide the gips up onto the frame there is a track or grove inside the grips that the screw base sides into. Tighten the grip screw into the bottom of the grips and your done. I love my 66!!!!!!

Handi, thanks for the reply.  Got it installed.  Looks like it could use a little trimming to get a tighter fit, but it fits good overall.  Went out with some HBWC loads and once I got it sighted in I was able to shoot 5 out of 5 rounds in the X ring on a 25 yard NRA Bullseye target with the gun on a bench rest.  Good enough for me!

Mine didn't fit that tight at first if you take them off and put something heavy on them they will close up a bit. (not to heavy)
