Wondeing how people weigh their rifles. Was thinking about a fish scale, but have not found one the seems to look very accurate. Realize one could us a human scale and weigh with and without rifle, but ago the margin of error is fairly large.

I have a digital scale that weighs up to 35LB that I use. Do a google search for digital scales.

I carry it in the field all day. At the end of the day I answer the only question that really matters. Would I carry it again the next day?

I have a 30 lb. digital that will weigh to hundredths of a lb. ....if you do not hold rifle in hands, stand on digital bathroom scale (mine weighs to .10 lbs.), get off scale, set rifle down, get back on scale, subtract the second number from the first = rifle weight.

OK...me ol'mum gave me my baby scale that weighted my sorry self some 47 years ago. I just put the shooter on and see where the little needle stops.

Actually...this is true. My mom gave the scale to my wife when my first was born and I've used it from time to time to weigh my various rifles. I do try to ignore the painted clouds, stars, moons and storks however!

Now you're getting close... It's more important to weigh the hunter than the rifle. Doesn't matter to me what a rifle weighs. As long as I stay within
10 lbs of ideal weight, and work out most days. I really notice no difference between 18 and 60 as far as mountain deer hunting is concerned, (other than experience)!
