41 mold??
« on: April 06, 2006, 04:26:48 PM »
I guess Veral is not going to be making molds for a few months.  I just got a .41 mag for silhouette.  Anyone have an LBT .410 or .411 mold that drops about 250 grain bullets.  I have a Lyman mold and a buddy has a few RCBS cast to try.  I was hoping to borrow an LBT mold.  I will pay shipping both ways, plus insurance and certification fees.

Anyone have an LBT mold I can borrow??  PLEASE!!

If you can not find anyone to borrow a mould from and you want to try his bullets...why not just buy a few boxes from Cast Performance. Their 250, 255 and 265 grain bullts are all from Verl's moulds..

Not to start trouble, and I have shot a lot of Cast Performance bullets. but I have a handwritten note from Veral that says the only way to get an LBT is to buy a mold from him.  He says anyone that sells bullets otherwise is ripping us and him off.  He did say that the Cast Performance sample I sent him was a close copy.  I shot hundreds of the CP bullets and they shot very well indeed.  I sent a sample to Veral, which he copied, saying the weight would be diferent,( IT WAS).  The identical bullet from Veral shrank groups from 1-1/4" to .8".  I say shoot CP's bullets until Veral can make you a mold.  His stuff is without equal in my experience.  I hope this helps.

I'm back in business again, so obtaining a mold will be no problem.
Cast performance has not purchased any products from LBT for about 7-8 years, and is simply plagerizing the LBT name to boost sales on anything they choose to throw out. They are probably using a few molds yet which I made in their earlier years, but many of the bullets they sell are DEFINATELY not designs which I would make or reccomend, and I do NOT suggest trying any of their product to 'see how LBT bullets perform'.

The bullet on the right looks like one of my design.  The left one has a strange wide crimp groove, which I don't recall ever making, if I'm seeing it properly.
Either would shoot as well as my design, (if they aren't), IF THEY WERE SIZED PROPERLY FOR YOUR GUN, WITH SQUARE BASES, and. USED LBT LUBE.  All of these are factors which Cast Performance doesn't offer. which means you aren't shooting LBT performance, period.  But if they are accurate, and driven at adaquate speed, they will kill to LBT specs.
