That pic has been circulating the net for a few years now. Supposedley from Wisconsin, but who knows.

A white black bear= I believe this one !!!!!!

While white is the rarest color phase, it's by no means unheard of.  Considering the picture shows this bear does not have pink eyes, it's not an albino.  One other thing to note is that it's possible that this color phase will change as the bear gets older.  For information on the color phases of black bears, check out this page below.

watching discovery channel a few years ago, they said 1 in 10 blackbears are white, or are white for a period of time. Many times, however, they are killed by other bears, or phase from white to another color....

I've seen albino deer, but a white black bear??? SWEET!

That picture was taken a few years ago in western PA.  A co-worker of mine's grandmother took that and several other pictures.  There were actually 2 white phase cubs with a normal black phase sow.  At the time the photos were taken I received them in an email and thought my co-worker was pulling some sort of hoax.  To this day she swears her grandmother really took the photos.

There is a region of coastal B.C., where white phase black bears are quite common.  I'm not certain, but I believe they are off limits to hunters.
