In the market for a new (used) rifle?

This may be a good time to pick up a decent used gun.  Her are a few examples I've seen in the past three weeks at local gun shops.

Savage Mod 110 .30-06  Wood stock.  3X9 Simmons 8-point.  Military style sling.  Exellent condition.  $230.00

Mossberg Mod 800 .308 adjustable sights w/Weaver bases, non-detachable swivels.  Well cared for, no blemishes, exellent bluing.  $199.00.

Winchester Mod 670 .30-06 adjustable sights. Exellent (looks unused) condition.  $195.00

Remington Mod 700 ADL synthetic .30-06 Bushnell scope with A/O. Leupold steel rings and mounts.  $375.00

NEF Handi Rifle .243 Bull Barrel, Bushnell Trophy 3X9, Weaver rings.  Exellent condition.  $220.00

With exception of the Remington 700, each has been purchased.

Man, if I stumbled accross a Mossberg 800, I'd snap it up in a heart beat. Killed my 1st deer with one in .243win when I was 9. So it's got a special place in my heart. I've always admired its form, but function is where it shines.

It is a very good time. Some people are selling to pay Uncle, some are selling to buy a new rifle with a refund from Uncle. I like rifles that are older but look cared for. A nearly new rifle being sold raises questions. Why is it being sold? It is also a good time to shop new rifles. I saw a Savage 16FSS in .270 WSM for $340 the other day.

Sure is, I just bought a sks, Ruger singel six both used very little and  very well care for.  I bought a new savage .17 hmr to :)

If I had seen that Mossberg 800 on the shelf for that price, I would have ripped my pants getting the money out.

Don't fret guys, I couldn't leave the Mossberg either.  It came home with me.  I like the older rifles as well and even have a soft spot for the store brand models.

Especially in a 300 Savage!
