Taurus Millennium PT 138 model

I recently purchased a Taurus Millennium model PT 138 .380 cal. I have a problem with the round feeding into the chamber. It does not feed properly. Sometimes when I release the slide release lever it pushes the round half way in, does this mean the recoil spring is weak? Or does the ramp need polishing? I have also noticed that it does this with only one or two types of ammo and performs flawlessly with other brands? Is this normal or is the gun a lemon?  Does anyone out there have the same problem? Aren't pistols made to fire all brands of ammo?
I called Taurus in Fla, they told me they've never heard of any missfeeding problems with the Millennium pistols series.

Some guns just don't like some types of ammo. What kind of ammo are you having problems with? FMJ, HP? I have had two Milleniums, .45 ACP and .40 S&W and never had a problem with either of them. Wish I had the .45 back. I do polish the feed ramp on any pistol I buy regardless of who made it. I use a Dremel tool with a felt pad and jeweler's rouge. I would suggest polishing the ramp and shoot it. If you have problems with certain ammo, then just stay away from it. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thank you for your advise! I did polish the feed ramp using my dremmel tool and BRASSO paste, I also polished the throat just in case it needed it. I tried the ammo I was having problems with and it is feeding nicely now, I only need to take it out to the shooting range to test fire it. By the way! the ammo I was having problems wtih was the FMJ Aguila brand made in Mexico which is actually a good ammo and is very inexpensive, I have fired at least 2000 rounds of 9mm Aguila without a single malfuction from my Glock 19, I just need to see If I can do te same with my new Taurus Millenium .380 pistol.  Just in case I will still use the Remington FMJ while carrying my pistol just to be safe and use the Aguila brand for practice.
