G2 Stock for Contender Frame?
« on: March 12, 2006, 04:40:59 PM »
I am debating about setting up a carbine but I am aware of the too low of comb height aforded by the regular carbine stocks. Will the G2 stock work better, fitting the Contender Frame?

The stocks are not interchangable, only the forends.  One of the custom makers can supply you a higher comb version in various grades of wood and finish.  Try Boyd's.

I have gotten a couple of stocks that are shaped and sized like an Encore with the high comb, but inletted for an original Contender.  Got tham at www.gunstocksinc.com

They also make a version with a higher comb than the standard Encore.  Price is good at $45 for plain walnut, semi-finished.  They also offer some laminates.

G2 factory stocks have a higher comb that allows better eye/scope alignement....just like an Encore.

If I read the post right you have an original frame, and the G2 stock will not fit it.
