I am looking for a not too expensive O/U shotgun. I looked at the Stoeger Condor and the Remington Spartan. I have been reading the forums and they don't rate those two very well. Several have mentioned the CZ O/U's. I read about the Redhead and the Mallard. I liked those two because they had the "coin" or silver receiver. Anyone know what the major differences are between these two except price?? Any help would be appreciated. :roll:

If you are not used to double trigger guns be sure to get the one with the single trigger. I fooled around one time and bought a doubletrigger'ed side by side and it cost me a lot of birds. I learned to shoot it, but not as fast as a single trigger. Good Luck

I think you'd be more pleased with the Redhead as it has a single selective trigger and auto ejectors on the 12 and 20. The Mallard has double triggers and while that's good IF you're used to them maybe not so if you're not. For a hunting gun ejectors are a plus you want or I do. On the target range I can do without them.

Now iffen it were me I'd have to get the nice little Woodcock but then that's me.

Thanks. I have an old Stevens 311 S/S that has double triggers and I am used to that. I kind of like the "coin" receiver of the Mallard and Redhead. Problem is, I can't find a place that has them to look at. I was wondering if the Mallard looks cheap since the Redhead is about twice as much??

I've not seen any of the Huglu O/Us only the SxS guns. I've bought a Bobwhite in .410 and a Ringneck in 28 and they are quite nice guns. All I know of the O/Us is from the website.
