Hello EL,

We have no unanswered questions on our site www.brooks-usa.com . What name did you use to e-mail us?
Are you from NY? We have sent invoices to two new customers in NY. in the last 90 minutes. Did you order from us.
     We take this very seriously.

Eluke, Thanks for responding.  You indicated you wanted to pay via PayPal, so we had PayPal send your invoice direct.  You were invoiced by them at 3:41 pm today. We will forward a copy to you in a minute.

I note you are new to the board.  Welcome!  If you go to page 2 or 3 to the Backyard Cannon Fun thread, you will find video and lots of comment on one of the cannon you ordered

The 2 cannon you ordered are in stock and ready to ship.  As with all of our products, these cannon come with our money-back satisfaction guarantee.

     Regards,

         Michael

That AOL account maybe the reason. For some reason AOL choses to turn back a large percentage of the e-mail sent to their members. At times every message we send to members here based on their request for them will get rejected. They have got to be the most unreliable ISP out there other than Earthlink.

Thanks for the perspective, Bill.  That's something we as individuals observe occasionally but don't have the results from bulk-emailing to put 2+2 together.  (Other than what one hears about ISP's.)

EL - I think you'll find our sponsors are right-much fine folks with which to deal.  Thanks for dealing with the issue in the forum - so we all can see what the issues are and fix them if needed.

Michael - I'm impressed with your fast responses (as well as your professionalism).

EL-  This has been a real learning experience!  I copied the text of the PayPal invoice and sent it directly from jsb@brooks-usa.  My guess is that you will get this one. I don't recall ever making anyone work so hard to send money!    :?  Was wondering if you checked in your spam folder to see if the originals ended up there.?  Please let me know if you received this last attempt.  Thanks.

Graybeard-  Yes, thanks for the input-- all of this makes me wonder just how many times this has happened in the past.....  We are just getting ready to start our second year as a sponsor...seems like we just started..time flies when you are having fun!  What a great forum this is!

CW-  Pretty amazing how these things play out, isn't it?  Once again. I have learned something from this forum!  Your compliment was much appreciated, also.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Michael

What i shoot
« Reply #15 on: March 16, 2006, 12:15:30 AM »
Well i shoot a little of everything. I started with an air cannon shooting spuds. I was able to push a spud a little over 1400 feet per second. then  got into combustion cannons, carbide cannons, firecracker cannons and last but not least black powder.
Most of what i have i have made myself and the blackpowder are on the smaller scale. I don't have the means or the equipment to do a large scale cannon.
Then again i would also have to find a place to shoot a larger cannon.
Right now i am waiting on two howitzers and a firecracker cannon from brooks.

Got mine (mini-mortar) this morning...only 4 business days after ordering. I would have had it a day earlier but the post office misplaced it... nice to see prompt service :-)

Mine is a 30 cal and the bore measures about .322. Not sure how stable it would be, but a 30-06 or 30 carbine bullet should fit nicely. I believe I may even have a .320 round ball mold somewhere in my collection.

I'll post pictures when I finish the base.

Rickk, rather than cast balls, buy a bag of #1 buckshot which has a nominal diameter.30. That would give you an adequate amount of windage.

BUY ??? lol

I have been reloading for 20 + years now and , except for my .308 Sniper gun and my Glock .357 SIG I havn't bought a loaded round or bullet in all those years. The .308 would destroy cast bullets so I buy the bullets and load them myself. The Glock is a PP gun and they are just simply is supposed to use factory ammo for liabilities sake.

I think have about 40 reloading dies sets and about an equal number of bullet molds. I even have a Corbon Bullet swager set up in 44 and 357. I spent a lot of money so I could be this cheap ;-)

Partially cuz I'm cheap, and partially cuz I am on the Board of Directors of a gun club with a Savage "Snail" bullet trap... virtually an infinite supply of very clean range lead for the cost of zero dollars and zero cents.

Yup, I knew about the buckshot, but I cast even buckshot and slugs.

Damn I am cheap...lol. I spend my money only on things I can't make myself.

I've been casting bullets more than 20 years, myself. I know from experience that bullets that small (110 gr. 30 carbine for example) are a hassle to get to come out perfect.
The lead may be free but the electricty to melt it isn't, nor is your time or labor.
It was just a suggestion.

For most people, buying shot is probably the way to go.

I'm just one of those people that prefer to build instead of buy if I can, spending money on the tools to do the job instead of paying someone else to screw it up for me (don't get me started on Jiffy-Lube) :-)

I do know my limitations, but they are usually controlled only by the intensity of the stare my wife gives me when I buy some new and expensive tools or toys.

Well, I'm off to Texas for a week of partying... ummm... Technical Conferencing.  My wife will enjoy stokin the wood stove for a while... I'm burned out by it.

If it isn't warm here when I get back, I'll be lookin for a complaint form for sure.
