Winchester Model 70 Bi-Tone Rifle
« on: March 02, 2006, 02:23:34 AM »
Picked up a model 70 push feed used and about 8 years old the other day. The rifle is very clean and I would guess in 95 plus per cent condition. Its a 7mm Rem. mag. with a blued receiver, stainess barrel and black syn. stock. The rifle really looks to have not been shot much at all. The one strange thing is that it only has a 22in. long barrel. I have never seen one like this and never saw one in Winchesters catalog. What do I have and will the short barrel make it behave like a shouped up 280 Rem? Thanks in advance for any and all input. It is really a neat looking rifle.

A two inch barrel change in either direction is not going to make a great deal of difference in the velocity of the bullets shot from it. But then the 7mm Magnum is only a "souped up .280".  :)
