Belgium Browning BAR 7MM Mag
« on: February 27, 2006, 05:25:48 PM »
Hey guys,I purchased a Belgium Browning 7mm Mag.I'm lost on it.I went to sight it in ans it looks like i'm shooting a browning gold shotgun. At 50 yards.I cannot even get a descent group.Maybe 3-6 inches if I'm lucky.I tried factory 140 gn remingtons.139 grain hornady sst and I can't figure it out.I took the scope off another 7mm mag which grouped very well.I tried a few  diferent ways.Shooting it clean, dirty, waiting 15 minutes inbetween shots. All screws, mounts rings are all tight.I read somewhere that the old BAR's will shoot real heavy loads well(175 grain) But it kinda is a waste to have a flat shooting gun and shoot heavy bulletsSo I got out the old  hard kickin remington 700 bdl and got 1 inch groups with the same 139 gn hornady sst's.So I used it for the hunting season. No use taking a gun that I'm not confident with.Just wondering if anyone had the same situation.thanks in advance,ENCORE ROOKIE

The factory told me to tighten the forend bolt real tight.

I did.

It worked.

Where is this bolt located--also, what is the proper way to remove the forearm.  I have a similar probem with a 7mm mag BAR which I have had for a number of years.  It's purty to look at but it sure don't shoot accurately!!  I've about given up on it.  Thanks
