Reintroduced T - Bolt .22 Rifle
« on: February 25, 2006, 10:54:20 AM »
Does anyone have this rifle yet ?  I would love to hear your comments before I drop over $500 on it.  I did call Browning the other day and asked about the rifle:  The steel is 4140(excellent),  the barrel is pinned to the receiver(OK, but not as rigid as a threaded attachment), the rifle is made in Japan(as are most Brownings),  the trigger guard might be steel; the rep I spoke with was not sure (I think it is probably 7075-T6 aluminum).  All in all a very fine piece.  My only concern is the drop at the comb and heel; both are only 5/8".  While this will provide proper cheek placement for scope use,   the drop at the toe might necessitate a very high shoulder position.   Any thoughts ?

I am also very interested in the new T Bolt rifle. I haven't had an opportunity to handle one yet, but I like the rifle's lines in the pictures I have seen. I intend to order one soon. I really don't think the butt stock will cause any problems.
