On saturday I was over at one f my dads friends house for him to work on the trigger on my new 700 VS 22-250. He is a qualified hunsmith. When I say that, I don't mean thats his business, but he graduated from the colorado school of gunsmithing. Anyway he worked the trigger down to right about 2 pounds or maybe an ounce or 2 below 2lbs. We tested to see if it was safe by banging the butt of the gun on the ground really hard a bunch of times. (It was hard for me to see him doin that to my new gun, cause he was beatin the you know what out of it.) We also layed a rolled up towel on the ground and hit the muzzle . And the last test was with the muzzle on the towel again and opening and closing the bolt very hard and fast. The hammer never fell. All of these tests were firsted performed with the safety on and then off. He also put loktite on all of the screws he adjusted to lighten it so they won't loosen or anything down the road. Everybody over at the Huntamerica forum has been givin me hell about it. Everyone is tellin me that its unsafe and that its an accident waitin to happen. I respect they're opinions and trust them, but I wanted to hear what y'all had to say about it. Thanks!!
