O.K. you guys talked me out of the Taurus millenium so how about the Springfield compact with 10rd. mag. Handled one today at store seems decent. Priced at $599.00. How is the reliability, that price, accuracy? Thanks.

skandiaman:  The Springfield line of pistols is top notch.  Most of the folks who have them like them quite a bit.  There was some talk about the reliability of the shortest barrelled jobs but that does not seem to be an issue.  If you can try it out, see how it shoots and feels and take it from there.  You should be quite satisfied with your choice.  Mikey.

Like Mikey, I'm a Springfield fan and an owner.  I feel they are great quality for the money.  I'm yet to find a compact of any make that feels right to me though.  Guess old habits are hard to break after all since I prefer 1911s but that's just me.  As long as this compact feels right to you, try it and buy it.  You won't be disappointed with the quality.
