"FLASH" Winchester Model 70 Super Rifles
« on: February 14, 2006, 03:09:18 PM »
Prior to their decision to scrap the model 70 Win. they decided to make the best model 70 ever made.  Take off your extractor and see if " S-R " is stamped on the bottom.  If it is your are a lucky fellow.  Only a few were made in 2005.  The extractor on these select rifles were machined from spring steel by the "Williams Co."  More information will follow.

How does one take the extractor off?

I have a .270 SS Classic FWT and a 30-06  SS Classic in the tupperware stock.

I just bought a featherweight in 22-250 and it has the "S-R" stamped on the underside of the extractor.  I'd like to know more about what makes these rifles different than the standard production issues....
