Left Hand Browning A Bolt Question
« on: February 13, 2006, 03:46:01 PM »
I bought a Stainless Stalker LH in 25/06 back in 1990 or 1991.  What other calibers were offered in left hand that are no longer in the catalog?  Was a short action A Bolt ever offered in a lefty?

I would have to say this gun is my favorite of anything in my safe.  Accurate, and it fits me.

Are you talking about the stainless stalker or Abolts in general?

I was thinking about the stainless stalker in particular.  I thought it may have been in a short action LH at one time.  I didn't save my old catalogs.

I bought one in 270 win( they don't make them in 25-06 anymore) last November.
What is your opinion on their plastic stock?

The stock fits me perfectly.  I bought mine new in 1990 so I don't know if the newer models have the same stock.  No major complaints with mine.  Would prefer a 23" or 24" barrel rather than the 22" on the 25/06 though.

Well they add the palm swell to it. I am not sure I care for even if it is lefty. Don't get me wrong mine will put three 130gr. nosler partitions under .75" and the partition has never been the bullet that I look for great accuracy from.
What concerns me more is the wimpy front end, seems to flex easy. I think if I had to rest the rifle for a long shot I would be sure to do so back closer to where the the recoil lug is located.
Do you know of anyone who makes a replacement stock for lefty Abolts.
By the way I noticed they reintroduced the 338 WM to the lefty stainless stalkers
