Anybody know if Tikka Has made a .280 in the past?
« on: February 13, 2006, 01:41:51 PM »
I have a new Tikka Whitetail Hunter in a .308.  I would like to get a .280 if they made one.  I live in Minnesota.  This gun was bought new at a gun shop and has never been fired except for the factory accuracy check.  Has a little rack rash on the barrel from riding the wood gun rack, also has nice wood in stock.  I won't use because I have a T3, 30-06 for tree stand hunting.  I don't remember if they made one?  Thanks  Buckfever

P.S. This gun hobby is the closest thing to gambling I know of.  For some reason the thought of a new gun to work up and hunt with is overpowering.  Yes, the wife is well aware of my addiction, ain't it great!!!!

I saw a tikka 280 in syn/blu at a local gun shop a few yrs ago for 430.00. It was a rocky mountain elk foundation edition. I was going to buy it but bought a t3 in s/s in 7mm-08 instead.

One of my hunting buddies has one.  Can't remember a model name, but it has pretty wood on it.  It is a .280 though.  Where ya at in MN Buckfever?  I'm down in the south, near I-35 & I-90.  I can get some more info on it if ya want.

I live in the Twin Cities.  I would like to hear more about it.  If it is what I am looking for we can talk.  Always easy to meet at the Cabelas in Owatonna.   Look forward to hearing from you.  Thanks  Bob

I saw one on gunbroker.com just a few days ago.  You might want to take a look.

Sorry Buckfever, but I was a little mistaken.  It is his .243 Tikka that has the pretty wood, his .280 is a composite stock.  And he wants to keep it.
Sorry about that.

No problem, I can understand why anyone would want to keep a .280.
Thanks  Buckfever

Ya know,  I just remembered he also told me his had a RMEF logo engraved on it, he was thinking maybe it was a limited production for them or something, as he hadn't ever seen another one like it.

Good luck in your search,

Mike
